One of my most favorite and earliest memories growing up was waking up to the sound of my dad playing some oldies, as he and my mom drank their coffee, and prepared themselves for the sunny Southern California Saturday that was ahead of us. This routine took place often in our house, as we let tons of different genres and sounds help us get ready to face the day (whether that day is filled with church, work, errands, skateboarding, or a basketball tournament). Little did I know that these daily routines would influence my greatest passions and desires.
Now, as a 22 year old college student, those early childhood mornings still continue on in my life today. I often start the day brewing some coffee originating from Ethiopia on my Chemex or Clever Dripper, as I let my spotify queue play in the background. My days are usually filled with the same thing, work, school, church, and any other extra-curricular activities I can find the time for. After spending several months talking about coffee, theology, and music with my close friends, I thought it would be a good idea to share my methods, ideas, and findings, with others, thus this blog was born….slightly prematurely.
So welcome to the world of McKay, or as my friends call me, DJ mmKay. Christ, coffee, and music will all be found here, and if you get to know me, you might learn more.
